Terms of Service

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Thread (“the Service”), operated by Digital Trend AS (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that company.

1. About the Service

Thread is a business platform for founders and small teams. It brings customer email, private discussion, AI assistance and coding agents together in one inbox. Ada, the AI inside Thread, reads what you let it read, drafts replies, asks questions, runs the work you assign and reports back, within the authority you grant.

The Service is in early access. Features may change, be added or be removed while we build it, and access may be granted in batches from a waitlist.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and use the Service for business purposes.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

3. Connected accounts and authorisations

You may connect mailboxes, calendars and other accounts (for example Google or Microsoft) to the Service. When you do, you authorise Thread to access those accounts to the extent you approve in the provider's consent flow, and you confirm that you are entitled to grant that access. You can revoke it at any time in the Service or with the provider. Access tokens are stored encrypted.

4. AI features and your decisions

AI output can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. New automation policies start as draft-for-approval, and the Service only acts on its own where you have enabled a policy that allows it. You remain responsible for every message sent from your accounts and every action you approve or authorise, whether you took it yourself or Ada took it under your settings. You can pause all autonomy at any time with the master switch, and recorded changes can be reviewed and rewound.

5. Coding agents and your machines

Coding sessions run on machines you connect, using your own accounts with providers such as Anthropic and OpenAI, under their terms. You are responsible for those machines, for the credentials and permissions the agents have on them, and for reviewing what you instruct them to do. The host agent connects outbound to the Service; it does not open inbound ports.

6. Your content and the people you contact

You own the content you bring to the Service: your mail, records, contacts, drafts and code. You grant us the licence needed to store, process and display it in order to operate the Service for you, and for nothing else. We do not use your content to train AI models we operate, and our AI subprocessors may not use it to train theirs.

When you contact people through the Service, you must have a lawful basis to do so and comply with the anti-spam and data-protection laws that apply to you and to them. The Service honours opt-outs and erasure requests as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to send unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other tenants or our infrastructure.
  • Store or transmit malicious code, or interfere with or disrupt the Service.
  • Circumvent usage limits, security or tenant isolation.
  • Resell the Service or access it by automated means other than the interfaces we provide.

8. Subscriptions and payments

Early-access pricing is announced before you are invited; joining the waitlist costs nothing. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe (web), Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.

  • You can cancel at any time through your app store account settings or at your account page.
  • Refunds follow the policy of the platform that processed the payment.
  • Usage of third-party AI providers through your own accounts is billed by those providers, not by us.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design and content are owned by Digital Trend AS and protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or to the Service other than the right to use it as described here.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available, but during early access we do not guarantee uptime, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Where a change materially reduces what you pay for, we will tell you in advance.

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and the accuracy of AI-generated content.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Digital Trend AS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits or damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content or on actions taken by agents under your settings. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Termination and deletion

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time in the app settings or at usethread.run/account/delete. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date, and we will tell active customers about material changes in advance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes arising from these Terms are resolved in the courts of Norway, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights where they apply.
